INITIAL RESPONSE

When a minor spill occurs, presenting no significant hazard to employees or the environment (e.g. spill on absorbent pad):

  • Clean up the spill by trained laboratory personnel
  • Notify Radiation Safety Officer

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Dispose of decontaminated material as directed by Radiation Officer
  • Complete Safety Event Report
