INITIAL RESPONSE

When an audible alarm or flashing strobe light is present, leave the building:

  • Remain calm
  • Alert others in the area of need to relocate or evacuate
  • Listen for instructions from overhead announcement
  • Move out of the immediate area
  • Leave the suite through the closest exit
  • Do not use the elevator
  • Once outside the building move to your assigned meeting place: Exit the suite and move to the main exit of the building. Exit out the main door to the parking lot (opposite immediate care), follow the sidewalk until you come the marquee sign.
  • Account for all patients, parents, visitors, and staff

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Suggested evacuation priority: ambulatory, assisted, then dependent
  • Report any missing person to security or Huntley Fire Department.
  • Wait for instructions from the Huntley Fire Department and/or Hospital Designee before re-entry.
