INITIAL RESPONSE

When an audible alarm or flashing strobe light is present, leave the building:

  • Remain calm
  • Alert others in the area of need to relocate or evacuate
  • Move out of the immediate area
  • Leave the building through the closest exit
  • Once outside the building move to your assigned meeting place: rear exit(go to the green sign turn right to the third light post), front exit (exit the building, keep to the left to the end of the building)
  • Account for all patients, parents, visitors, and staff

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Suggested evacuation priority: ambulatory, assisted, then dependent
  • Report any missing person to Lake Forest Fire Department or Lake Forest Hospital Security
  • Wait for instructions from the Lake Forest Fire Department and/or Hospital Designee before re-entry.
  • Call and update Lurie Hospital Security when in a safe location 312-227-4222
