INITIAL RESPONSE

When relocation or an evacuation is necessary the Chicago Fire Department will make an announcement and provide direction.

  • Remain calm
  • Alert others in the area of need to relocate or evacuate
  • Listen for instructions from overhead announcement
  • Move out of the immediate area
  • Leave the suite through the closest exit
  • Do not use the elevator
  • Once outside the building move to your assigned meeting place: Exit the suite and move to the front main exit of the building. Exit out the front main door to the parking lot, follow the sidewalk until you come the marquee sign.
  • Account for all patients, parents, visitors, and staff

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

  • Suggested evacuation priority: ambulatory, assisted, then dependent
  • Report any missing person to New Lenox Fire Department or New Lenox Hospital Security
  • Wait for instructions from the New Lenox Fire Department and/or Hospital Designee before re-entry.
