INITIAL RESPONSE

When you see fire, smoke or something burning:

  • R - Remove individuals from danger
  • A - Activate fire pull station (located by each exit stairwell)
  • C - Close all doors
  • E - Evacuate the area
  • ----------------------------------

If you hear the fire alarm, leave the building

If you smell smoke, call Facility Services 74098

If you smell smoke, call Facility Services (312) 227-4098

 

SECONDARY RESPONSE

& FOLLOW UP

To extinguish a small fire, locate the ABS fire extinguisher (found in each stairwell, in the hallways on each floor):

  • P - Pull the pin
  • A - Aim the nozzle at base of fire
  • S - Squeeze the handles together
  • S - Sweep from side to side

ABC fire extinguisher is used for all types of fires
