INITIAL RESPONSE

Personal safety is about risk reduction, using good common sense and trusting your instincts:

  • Call 911 and call Silver Cross Hospital Security (815) 300-7071 to report suspicious persons or activities around the building and update Security

  • Do not open entrance doors to let strangers or those without proper identification enter the building
  • Wear ID Badge and be observant of those without an identification badge
  • Do not leave valuables such as laptops, a purse, wallets, smart phones or tablets unattended
  • Keep personal items in a secure location
  • Avoid walking alone at night uutess absolutely necessary
  • Avoid shortcuts and dark, isolated areas
